1. Who These Terms Apply To

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you, an individual user, and O and P Advisory Services, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), the publisher of Monetary Model, an online educational simulator of the U.S. monetary system (the "Service"). By creating an account, clicking "I agree," or using the Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the free tier only with a parent or guardian's permission, and you may not purchase a Pro subscription yourself. By purchasing Pro you confirm that you are at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.

The Service is offered to individuals for personal, non-commercial, educational use. If you want to use it on behalf of a company, school or other organization, contact us first — organizational use is governed by a separate agreement.

2. The Service

Monetary Model lets you explore interactive maps of historical and present-day U.S. monetary institutions, adjust policy levers, run deterministic and probabilistic ("Monte Carlo") simulations, save scenarios, and share them by link.

A free tier is available to everyone with an account. A paid "Pro" subscription unlocks additional features described on the Pricing page. We may change, add or retire features from time to time; if a change materially reduces what Pro includes during a paid period, you may cancel and we will refund the unused portion of that period.

3. Your Account

You need an account to save scenarios and to subscribe. Keep your login credentials confidential and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at monetarymodel@oandpadvisoryservices.com. Deleting your account ends any active subscription at the close of the current billing period and removes your saved scenarios, except where we must retain records for legal or accounting reasons.

4. Educational Use Only — Not Financial Advice

Monetary Model is a teaching and modeling tool. Its simulations are simplified, stylized representations of the economy built on published assumptions and your own inputs. They are illustrations of how mechanisms interact, not forecasts of what will happen.

Nothing on the Service — including simulation outputs, percentile bands, failure probabilities, historical descriptions, or any written explanation — is investment, financial, tax, legal, or economic advice, and none of it is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial institution.

Any decision you make after using the Service is yours alone. If you need advice about your own situation, consult a qualified professional. See the Educational Disclaimer for more detail.

5. Pro Subscriptions, Billing and Auto-Renewal

Pro costs $9.99 per month (USD), plus any applicable sales tax shown at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

Your subscription renews automatically each month and your payment method is charged at the start of each renewal period until you cancel. Before you subscribe, the price, renewal frequency and cancellation method are shown to you at checkout.

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Cancel Subscription, or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future charges; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you already paid for. Because access continues through the paid period, we do not refund any part of a period once it has started, except as described in Section 2 or where the law requires otherwise. Full details are in our Refunds & Cancellation Policy.

If we change the Pro price, we will email you at least 30 days in advance. The new price applies only to renewals after that notice period; you may cancel before it takes effect.

If a payment fails, we may suspend Pro features until payment is made. Your free-tier access and saved scenarios are not affected.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, copy or redistribute the simulation engine, historical content, images or other materials, other than sharing scenario links as the Service allows.
  • Use automated tools to run simulations at a volume that degrades the Service for others.
  • Circumvent tier limits, access controls or payment.
  • Upload unlawful, infringing, hateful or misleading content in scenario titles or notes, or impersonate another person.
  • Present simulation outputs as real forecasts or official data, or use the Service to market financial products.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Where reasonable we will warn you first.

7. Your Scenarios and Shared Links

You own the scenarios you create. You grant us a license to store, process and display them so we can operate the Service, and — if you mark a scenario public — to show it to anyone who has its share link.

Public share links are unlisted but not private: anyone with the link can view the scenario and fork a copy. Do not put personal or sensitive information in scenario titles or notes.

8. Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, simulation models, calibration data, historical narratives, caricature artwork, design and trademarks, is owned by O and P Advisory Services, LLC or its licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms do not give you any ownership in the Service. You may quote short excerpts of our explanatory content for personal study or classroom use with attribution to Monetary Model.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. It is part of these Terms.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties such as Stripe (payments) and our hosting provider, listed on the Sub-processors page. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites linked from the Service.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not promise that simulations are accurate, that historical content is free of error, or that the Service will be uninterrupted.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by contract.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, O and P Advisory Services, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings or investment losses, arising from your use of the Service — including any decision made in reliance on a simulation.

Our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US $50. These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

13. Dispute Resolution

Please contact us first. Most concerns can be resolved informally by emailing monetarymodel@oandpadvisoryservices.com. We will try to respond within 30 days.

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and we agree to resolve it by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in Michigan or conducted remotely, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. Arbitration may be conducted by video or telephone at your request. We will pay the arbitration filing and administrative fees beyond the amount of a small-claims filing fee.

Class-action waiver: claims may be brought only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding.

Opt-out: you may reject this arbitration agreement by emailing us within 30 days of first accepting these Terms with the subject "Arbitration opt-out." Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan and the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in a jurisdiction whose consumer-protection law gives you additional non-waivable rights, those rights are preserved.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new Terms; if you do not, you may cancel and stop using the Service.
