Summary — The Short Version

This is the fine print, but here is what it actually says:

  • You get a personal licence to use Monetary Model for your own learning. You do not own the software.
  • The free tier is free forever. Pro is a paid subscription that renews automatically until you cancel.
  • Pro is $9.99 per month. Cancel anytime in Settings and you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.
  • There are no refunds once a billing period has started — please cancel before your renewal date if you do not want to be charged again.
  • The simulations are educational models, not forecasts, and nothing here is financial advice.
  • Questions? Email monetarymodel@oandpadvisoryservices.com.

The full terms follow. The summary above is for convenience only; the numbered sections govern.

1. This Agreement

This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is between you, an individual ("you"), and O and P Advisory Services, LLC ("we," "us"), the owner and publisher of Monetary Model — an interactive educational simulator of the U.S. monetary system, together with its website, software, simulation engines, historical content, artwork and documentation (the "Software").

By creating an account, clicking "I agree," subscribing, or otherwise using the Software, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Software. If you are under 18, you may use the free tier only with the permission of a parent or guardian, and you may not purchase a Pro subscription. By purchasing Pro you confirm you are at least 18 and legally able to enter this Agreement.

This Agreement is for personal, individual use. Use by a company, school, government body or other organization, and any classroom or team deployment, requires a separate written licence — contact us.

2. Licence Granted to You

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and use the Software through its official website for your own personal, non-commercial, educational purposes, for as long as this Agreement remains in effect and — for Pro features — for as long as your subscription is active and paid.

This is a licence to use a hosted service. It is not a sale. No copy of the Software is delivered to you, and no ownership, source code or other right passes to you.

You may quote short excerpts of our explanatory text, and screenshot individual charts or map panels, for personal study, classroom discussion, journalism or academic commentary, provided you attribute them to Monetary Model and do not imply we endorse your conclusions.

3. Free Tier and Pro Subscription

Free tier. Any account holder may use the free tier at no cost. It includes the interactive regime maps, both content registers (Teaching and Analytical), deterministic simulation runs, and a limited number of saved scenarios. We may adjust free-tier limits with notice.

Pro tier. Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks crisis simulations, Monte Carlo uncertainty bands and failure probabilities, side-by-side scenario comparison, PDF and CSV export, and unlimited saved scenarios, as described on the Pricing page. Pro extends the licence in Section 2 to those features; it does not change any other term of this Agreement.

We may add, change or retire features over time as the Software develops. If we materially remove a feature that Pro included during a period you have already paid for, you may cancel and we will refund the unused portion of that period — see Section 5.

4. Pro Fees, Auto-Renewal and Cancellation

Price. Pro costs $9.99 per month in U.S. dollars, plus any sales tax shown at checkout. The price, the billing frequency and the cancellation method are displayed to you before you complete your purchase.

Automatic renewal. Your subscription is billed in advance and renews automatically at the end of each month. You authorize us and our payment processor to charge your saved payment method for each renewal, at the then-current price, until you cancel. Your renewal date appears in Settings and on each Stripe receipt.

Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. You are responsible for keeping your payment details current.

How to cancel. Cancel anytime from Settings → Cancel Subscription, or by emailing monetarymodel@oandpadvisoryservices.com from the address on your account. Cancellation takes effect immediately for billing purposes: no further charges are made. Your Pro features remain active until the last day of the period you have already paid for, after which your account returns to the free tier and your saved scenarios remain accessible within free-tier limits.

Price changes. If we change the price of Pro, we will email you at least 30 days before the change applies to one of your renewals. You may cancel before then to avoid the new price.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, our processor will retry it. If payment still fails, Pro features are paused until payment succeeds; your free-tier access and your saved scenarios are not deleted.

5. No Refunds Once a Billing Period Has Started

All Pro fees are paid in advance and are non-refundable once the billing period they cover has begun. Because you receive full, immediate access to every Pro feature for the entire period you paid for, we do not provide refunds, credits or partial refunds for:

  • unused time remaining in a billing period after you cancel,
  • partial months or periods in which you did not log in or did not use the Software,
  • a change of mind after a period has started, or
  • suspension or termination of your account for breach of this Agreement.

Cancelling stops all future charges but does not refund the current period. To avoid being charged for another period, cancel before your renewal date.

Limited exceptions. We will refund the affected charge where: (a) you were charged after cancelling, or charged more than once for the same period; (b) we materially remove Pro features during a period you have paid for, in which case we refund the unused portion; or (c) applicable consumer-protection law gives you a non-waivable refund or cooling-off right. To request a refund under (a), (b) or (c), email monetarymodel@oandpadvisoryservices.com with the charge date or receipt. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days.

Nothing in this Section limits any statutory right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by agreement. Our Refunds & Cancellation Policy sets out the same rules and forms part of this Agreement.

Chargebacks. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank; billing issues are usually resolved faster directly. Accounts with unresolved chargebacks may be suspended.

6. What You May Not Do

You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:

  • Copy, modify, translate, adapt or create derivative works of the Software, or reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it or attempt to derive its source code, simulation equations or calibration data, except to the extent this restriction is unenforceable under applicable law.
  • Rent, lease, lend, sell, resell, sublicense, host as a service, or otherwise make the Software available to a third party, whether or not for a fee.
  • Share your account credentials, or use one account for multiple people or on behalf of an organization.
  • Scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically extract the historical content, node data, artwork or simulation outputs, or use automated tools to run simulations at a volume that degrades the service for others.
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent tier limits, access controls, rate limits, authentication or payment.
  • Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or attribution notice.
  • Upload unlawful, infringing, defamatory, hateful or deceptive content in scenario titles or notes, impersonate another person, or use the Software to transmit malware.
  • Present simulation outputs as official data or genuine forecasts, or use the Software to market, promote or support the sale of financial products or investment advice.
  • Use the Software to build, train or benchmark a competing product, or to train machine-learning models on its content.

7. Your Scenarios

You retain ownership of the scenarios you create. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, reproduce and display your scenarios solely to operate and support the Software — and, where you choose to make a scenario public, to display it to anyone holding its share link and allow them to fork a copy.

Public share links are unlisted but not private: anyone with the link can view the scenario. Do not include personal, confidential or sensitive information in scenario titles or notes. You are responsible for the content you enter.

8. Ownership and Intellectual Property

The Software — including its code, simulation models and calibration, the historical research and written explanations in both Teaching and Analytical registers, the caricature artwork and other illustrations, the interface design, and the Monetary Model name and logo — is owned by O and P Advisory Services, LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws. All rights not expressly granted in Section 2 are reserved.

If you send us feedback, bug reports or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free right to use them to improve the Software, with no obligation to you. We will not identify you as their source without your permission.

9. Educational Use Only — Not Financial Advice

Monetary Model is a teaching and modelling tool. Its outputs are simplified, stylized representations of the economy generated from published assumptions and your own inputs. They illustrate how mechanisms interact; they are not forecasts, and percentile bands and "failure probabilities" describe uncertainty inside the model, not the likelihood of real-world events.

Nothing in the Software is investment, financial, tax, legal, accounting or economic advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, currency, commodity or other asset. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, bank or financial institution, and no advisory or fiduciary relationship is created by your use of the Software. Consult a qualified professional about your own circumstances. Any decision you make is yours alone.

Historical content is researched against canonical sources and corrected when errors are found, but it is a synthesis rather than a primary source. See our Educational Disclaimer for detail.

10. Privacy and Third-Party Services

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect and how we use it, and forms part of this Agreement. The Software depends on third-party providers — including our hosting platform and Stripe for payments — listed on our Sub-processors page. Those providers are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

11. Availability, Updates and Support

We aim to keep the Software available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, deploy updates, or temporarily suspend access for security or operational reasons. Updates are applied automatically and are covered by this Agreement.

Support for both tiers is provided by email at monetarymodel@oandpadvisoryservices.com; we aim to respond within two business days.

12. Term, Suspension and Termination

This Agreement runs from your first use of the Software until terminated.

You may terminate at any time by cancelling any subscription and deleting your account (email us to request deletion). Deletion ends Pro access at the close of the current paid period and removes your saved scenarios, subject to records we must retain for legal or accounting reasons.

We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach this Agreement — in particular Section 6 — or if required by law. Where reasonable we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may also discontinue the Software as a whole with at least 30 days' notice, in which case we will refund the unused portion of any period you have prepaid.

On termination, your licence ends and you must stop using the Software. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 16 survive termination.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, quiet enjoyment and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free, that simulation outputs or historical content are accurate, complete or current, or that the Software will meet your requirements.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this Section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits consumer rights that cannot be waived by agreement.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, O and P Advisory Services, LLC and its officers, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, lost data, business interruption or investment or trading losses, arising out of or relating to the Software or this Agreement — including any decision taken in reliance on a simulation output — even if we were advised of the possibility.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Software is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $50.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

15. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Talk to us first. Most issues are resolved quickly by emailing monetarymodel@oandpadvisoryservices.com. We will try to respond within 30 days.

Arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and we agree that it will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in Michigan or conducted remotely at your request, rather than in court. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court. We will pay arbitration filing and administrative fees above the cost of a small-claims filing fee.

Individual claims only. Claims may be brought only in your individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding, and the arbitrator may not consolidate claims.

Your right to opt out. You may reject this arbitration agreement by emailing us within 30 days of first accepting this Agreement with the subject line "Arbitration opt-out." Opting out affects nothing else in this Agreement.

16. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, and by the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act as to Section 15, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to Section 15, the state and federal courts located in Michigan have exclusive jurisdiction. If you reside in a jurisdiction whose consumer-protection law affords you additional non-waivable rights, those rights are preserved.

17. General Terms

  • Changes. We may update this Agreement. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in-app notice; continued use after the effective date means you accept the change, and if you do not, you may cancel and stop using the Software.
  • Entire agreement. This Agreement, together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Refunds & Cancellation Policy and Educational Disclaimer, is the entire agreement between us about the Software and supersedes any prior understanding.
  • Severability. If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the unenforceable provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not assign this Agreement. We may assign it in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, on notice to you.
  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • U.S. export and sanctions law. You may not use the Software in violation of U.S. export controls or from an embargoed jurisdiction.
